About Therapy

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, a difficult relationship, loss, or a period of change. At other times, it can be harder to say exactly what is wrong. You may simply feel stuck, find yourself facing the same difficulties again and again, or have a sense that something in your life needs to change.

Therapy starts with whatever has brought you here. From there, we can begin to explore what may lie beneath it.

Our work together is not only about understanding what is happening now, but also about making sense of how you came to be where you are. We look at your relationships, past and present, the experiences that have shaped you, and the family and wider contexts in which you have lived. We may also begin to notice ways of coping or relating that once served an important purpose but may no longer serve you as well.

Patterns can be remarkably persistent. You may find yourself taking on similar roles in different relationships, struggling with closeness or distance, putting other people's needs before your own, seeking approval at considerable cost to yourself, or finding change difficult even when you know that something is no longer working.

Therapy is not about assigning blame or endlessly analysing the past. The past matters because it can help us understand the present: what you have come to expect from yourself and from others, how you respond when you feel vulnerable or under pressure, and why certain patterns can be so difficult to change.

The relationship between therapist and client is an important part of the work. I do not see my role as telling you who you are or how you should live. Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we can visit your experiences with curiosity and care, make connections that may not have been apparent before, and question assumptions about yourself and your relationships that have come to feel fixed or inevitable.

There are no ready-made answers, and the aim of therapy is not to turn you into a different person. It is to help you understand yourself and your relationships more fully, recognise where you may have more choice than it feels you do, and find ways of living and relating that feel more genuinely your own.

Change is rarely a matter of simply making a problem disappear. Often, it begins with understanding something differently. And when we understand differently, different choices can become possible.

Understanding makes change possible.

Treatment
Anxiety and Anxiety Disorders
Depression and Depressive Symptoms
Relationship and Communication Difficulties

Anxiety can become overwhelming, affecting your mood, relationships, and daily life. But with the right support, you can learn to recognize it, understand it, and manage it more effectively.

In our sessions, we explore together the underlying causes that fuel your anxiety and develop both emotional and practical ways of coping. The goal is to help you regain a sense of calm, balance, and control in your life.

Depression can make each day feel like a struggle. It may leave you feeling immobilized, without energy or interest in things that once brought you joy, often accompanied by feelings of emptiness, guilt, or loneliness. But you don’t have to face it alone.

In our sessions, we create a safe space to explore the underlying causes of depression and to develop ways of coping. Our goal is to walk through the darkness together, rebuild hope, and help you rediscover meaning, resilience, and the beautiful moments in life.

Relationships are the foundation of our lives, yet they are often accompanied by misunderstandings, conflicts, or a sense of distance. Difficulties in communication can make relationships—whether personal, family, or professional—feel complicated and painful.

In our sessions, we explore the patterns that affect your relationships and work on developing both emotional and practical ways of communication that foster understanding, closeness, and genuine connection. The goal is to help you discover more balanced and fulfilling ways of relating to yourself and to others.

Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD)

Traumatic experiences can leave deep marks on both mind and body. Memories, images, or emotions may return again and again, creating anxiety, isolation, or difficulty feeling safe.

But trauma does not have to define your future. Therapy offers a safe space to process the past, heal emotional wounds, and regain a sense of safety and trust in life. Together, we can build resilience and open the way toward a brighter, more hopeful tomorrow.

Psychosomatic Symptoms and Somatization

The body often speaks when words are not enough. Headaches, stomach issues, tension, or unexplained pains can be ways in which emotional burdens find expression.

In our sessions, we explore what your body may be communicating through these symptoms and how they may be connected to feelings or experiences that have not yet found a voice. The goal is to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and discover new ways of self-care that nurture both your emotional and physical balance.

Loss and Grief

The loss of a loved one or an important relationship can bring intense pain, emptiness, and the feeling that life has changed forever. Grief is a deeply human experience, yet it can often feel lonely and overwhelming.

Therapy provides a space to share your pain, to honor what was lost, and to give voice to emotions that may remain unspoken. Together, we can find ways to keep what was meaningful within you, while also rediscovering hope, continuity, and meaning in life.

Treatment
Identity and Self-Esteem Issues
Postpartum Depression
& Psychological Difficulties after Childbirth
Parenting Counseling

Questions of identity and struggles with self-esteem can deeply affect how you see yourself and how you relate to others. Feelings of self-doubt, inadequacy, or confusion about your direction in life may feel overwhelming.

In therapy, we create a safe space to explore these challenges, strengthen your sense of self, and build a more authentic and confident connection with who you are.

Parenting can be both rewarding and challenging. Everyday stress, communication difficulties, or worries about your child’s well-being may leave you feeling uncertain or overwhelmed.

Together, we explore strategies that support both you and your child, helping to build stronger relationships, clearer communication, and a more balanced family environment.

The transition to parenthood is profound, and it can bring unexpected emotional challenges. Feelings of sadness, anxiety, or disconnection after childbirth are more common than many realize.

In therapy, we address these difficulties with warmth and understanding, supporting you in regaining emotional balance, strengthening your bond with your baby, and finding your own path through this new chapter.

Career Counseling and Professional Guidance
Life Transitions and Adaptation to New Environments
Self-Exploration and Personal Growth

Career choices and professional challenges can often bring stress, uncertainty, or a sense of being “stuck.” Balancing personal fulfillment with professional demands can feel overwhelming at times.

Through career counseling, we work together to clarify your goals, explore your strengths, and develop strategies that help you move toward a more satisfying and meaningful professional life.

Life brings changes that often challenge our sense of stability: divorce, career shifts, migration, or the “empty nest” stage. At the same time, adapting to a new cultural environment or navigating a mixed identity can evoke feelings of isolation and difficulty in adjustment.

Therapy provides a supportive space to process these experiences and to develop new ways of adapting, helping you find greater stability, safety, and inner balance during times of change.

Psychotherapy is not only about addressing symptoms but also about seeking deeper understanding and personal development. Through the therapeutic process, you can gain greater self-awareness, discover new aspects of your personality, and cultivate more authentic and meaningful ways of connecting with others.

The goal is to empower you, foster greater self-acceptance, and support you in living a life more aligned with your values and needs.

Treatment
Counseling for Reproductive and Fertility Challenges
Attachment and Childhood Trauma

Difficulties related to fertility and reproduction can bring a wide range of emotions—stress, grief, or even feelings of isolation. This journey can feel heavy to carry alone. Therapy offers a supportive space to process these experiences, navigate the emotional impact, and find ways of resilience and hope as you move forward.

Early childhood experiences and the bonds we form with our primary caregivers shape how we relate to ourselves and others throughout life. When these experiences involve trauma, neglect, or instability, they can leave lasting imprints that manifest through emotional struggles, difficulties with intimacy, or even physical symptoms.

In therapy, we work with care and safety to recognize these patterns, heal the wounds of the past, and cultivate more secure, stable, and authentic ways of connecting — both with yourself and with others.
